Team Leader Application Forms

Team Leader Application forms may be downloaded from the RI website. Only current forms will be accepted.

NB: Recommendations for Team Leaders must be submitted by Rotary Clubs, not by individual Rotarians. They are required to be endorsed by the Club President and Secretary, and also by the Assistant Governor.

Qualifications of Team Leaders:-

	Experienced Rotarian especially in International Service.
	Well informed on home country/ies of the district and Rotary.
	Current DG and Immediate PDG excluded.
	Previous District Office Service not a pre-requisite.
	Possess interpersonal communication skills.
	Ability to act as advisor and counsellor.
	Have proficiency (preferably fluency) in the major language/s of the host district, if required.
	Rotarians who will be serving as a Club President at the time of the exchange are not eligible.

Responsibilities and Duties of Team Leaders:-

	Represent the District Governor.
	Assume complete charge of the Team.
	Not be accompanied by spouse, companion, fiancé or other relative.
	Assist Team Members with preparation of presentation speeches.
	Take an active role in the Team’s pre-departure orientation.
	Acquaint Team Members with the purpose of the GSE programme.
	Imbue the team with a sense of mission.
	Build a well-informed and cohesive group.
	Act as liaison between team members and district, clubs, hosts.
	Physical ability to keep pace with the team.
	Remain with the team for the duration of the study tour.

Please ensure that the above requirements are understood when making your recommendation. These “Qualifications” are more fully set out in the Application form and should be fully understood and complied with by the applicant and the Club.

If you have any difficulty in downloading a form please contact the District 9320 GSE Chair by email or phone and he will fax a blank form to you. An addendum may be attached to the application if the space provided under the various headings is insufficient.

ASSISTANT’S GOVERNOR’S ENDORSEMENT

Clubs which submit Team Leader Applications are requested to send a copy of the relevant application/s to their Assistant Governor at the same time as the originals are either posted or faxed to the District 9320 GSE Chair for his/her perusal and endorsement. Assistant Governors are requested to personally vet all applications and independently submit their comments on the applicant to the District 9320 GSE Chair. This can be done by email, fax or telephone, and applies to all applications.
